It’s May!

Grassroots logoMaybe Spring will arrive before summer yet! I guess we’ll have to wait and see…especially with the weatherman still saying those frosty four letter words!

Anyway thought I’d let everyone know the May issue of the Grassroots is now posted…enjoy!

AccuWeather is stating that there is a strong storm system over the Rockies in Western US which will bring significant snowfall across the state of Colorado beginning on Monday…and beginning Wednesday evening through Thursday evening we are to expect 30 – 45 cm of the lovely white stuff!

Nolalu Spring Market Local Arts/Artisan Show & Sale

Saturday May 11, from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm
Location: Nolalu Community Centre in Nolalu
2266 Hwy#588

The Nolalu Community Centre will host an Arts and Artisan Show & Sale, an old-fashioned local community experience with a variety of products offered to you. Just in time for Mother’s day!

Come browse for those unique country gifts, taste the fresh baking, find handmade Jewellery, garden plants, water colour paintings, wood engravings, knitting and canning. Red hat ladies will offer you your choice of cookies to take home. And also a couple local authors will sell their books. Leo, the solar-greenhouse designer, will be ready to talk to you about growing your veggies, in cold climates, all year round.  We hope to see you Saturday May 11!

Directions from Thunder Bay:
Take Hwy 11/17 West.
Turn left at Stanley, over the Stanley bridge turn right and follow Hwy#588 for about 30 minutes, until Nolalu.
The community centre is down in the Valley at your right.
